What to see around Florence

We have already discussed in our previous post about Florence, but how about visiting the surroundings?

We will show you some of the most beautiful towns of Tuscany.

We start from the wonderful Vinci, birthplace of the great Leonardo da Vinci. Why not start your own visit from the one that was his home? Today it has been transformed into a museum and is located in the countryside of Vinci, surrounded by greenery. For a walk full of beauty and culture.

Certaldo

About half an hour from Florence is Certaldo, a medieval village dating from the twelfth century, enclosed by its walls. must see here is the Palazzo Pretorio, which is also the symbol of Certaldo, inside you can admire art exhibitions, the old prisons and even a tea house in his backyard, of artist Nagasawa!

A real gem near Florence is definitely Impruneta. This charming town is famous worldwide for the production of pottery and then you can not not visit the furnaces where it is produced and maybe even treat yourself to a nice shopping!

A must see is the Sanctuary of Santa Maria Impruneta dates back to the eleventh century and its museum rich in many historical goodies.

Impossible not to mention Fiesole small but pretty village of Etruscan origin. It is located on a hill above Florence and the first thing you have to do is go on the terrace to admire the view, we are sure you will be amazed by the show that will be presented before your eyes.

Obviously we recommend a visit to the Etruscan-Roman where you can admire the remains of the Roman theater and the ancient baths. Fiesole is also home to two interesting museums: the Civic Museum, which houses artifacts from the Etruscan-Roman period, and the Bandini Museum in which you will find works of the great Florentine painters.
